Veterans Fundraising Cycle event 14 – 16 June 2024: Hereford to the National Arboretum

Join our new veterans fundraising cycle &  feel a sense of purpose & unity on a 3-day adventure honouring our veterans

Are you ready to ride for our new veterans fundraising cycle and pay respects to their resilient spirit that shaped our world today? Then it’s time to prepare for our next exciting charity cycle, the 2024 Hereford to National Arboretum ride!

Get ready for our extraordinary 3-day adventure

This is our third cycle fundraising event, following our highly successful Cardiff to Paris ride in 2022 and Normandy Battlefields in 2023. Now, we’re embarking on a new extraordinary journey, honouring those who served in the Falklands Conflict. It’s a three-day adventure, from June 14th (the anniversary of the end of the Falklands Conflict where 255 British Service personnel died) to June 16th, as we cycle from Hereford to The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, near Lichfield, Staffordshire, visiting beautiful memorials, creating wonderful memories, and building life-long friendships. It’s challenging yet rewarding with the ultimate goal to help our veterans throughout Wales access life-changing services.

Let’s pedal for a purpose together!

Day 1: Remembrance and Reflection in Hereford

We start our 3-day exploration early at 7:30 am departing from Hereford. This cenotaph is a focal point for remembrance and reflection. It stands as a solemn tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives during various conflicts, including the Falklands Conflict.

We have a short service planned for the heroes of the Falklands Conflict, honouring and expressing gratitude for their service. We’ll spend the night at the charming Premier Inn Bromsgrove Central Hotel.

Day 2: A time for connection

On the second day, we start our journey a little later at 10 am, and head to the East Chase Distillers in Kenilworth. This is our time to socialise and connect over delicious artisan gin overlooking the picturesque East Chase Farm. Our home for the night is the delightful Premier Inn Balsall Common Hotel.

Day 3: A personal touch with a special memorial service for Woody

On day 3, we begin the final leg of our journey at 9:30 am and make our way to the tranquil National Memorial Arboretum located in Alrewas, Staffordshire. It’s a living tribute to the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. Spanning 150 acres, the Arboretum is home to over 30,000 trees and more than 400 memorials, each representing a unique story of courage and dedication.

Our visit includes a special memorial service for Woody, adding a personal touch to our journey. The Arboretum provides a serene and contemplative space for us to pay our respects and reflect on the profound impact of military service.

A thrilling cycling adventure that fosters purpose & unity

The 2024 Hereford to National Arboretum ride aims to challenge ourselves physically while connecting with the deeper meaning of our journey by paying homage to the heroes of the Falklands Conflict and supporting Woody’s Memorial Service.

It offers moments of reflection, gratitude, and camaraderie, fostering a sense of purpose and unity among our riders. It’s all wrapped up in a thrilling cycle adventure where you can meet new people, build new friendships, and help our Welsh veterans.
