Socialising & Support for Veterans and Emergency Service leavers
Here at Woody’s Lodge, we’ve found that it’s easy for veterans of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services to fall through the cracks and become isolated or find that they stop socialising with friends as much after their service is finished.
However, we provide a meeting space dedicated to helping our beneficiaries to reconnect with their peers as well as with their own friends and family, sharing their common experiences across all ages and service background. We’ve found that with new-found friends or with old friendships rekindled, isolation and loneliness can become a thing of the past as the problems of the world seem less overwhelming.
We understand that mental & physical health issues can seem endless and make the world seem a bleak place. We believe that friendship and socialising enables many with mental health challenges such as PTSD, anxiety or depression or physically debilitating conditions or injuries, the courage and support to deal with their issues in a positive way.
Woody’s Lodge is a social hub for a wide variety of people connected to veterans, emergency service leavers and their families regardless of their age, experience or background. Here at Woody’s we’ve discovered that by bringing people together, we can reduce isolation and help veterans to start re-building their lives.
We are still running our social days in all our Hubs with restrictions Monday – Thursday 9-3 pop along for a brew and chat.
