Timothy Jones

After leaving the Army many moons ago, I now live close to Holywell, North Wales.

After the Army, I worked in the rail industry for over twenty years but at 45, I was offered the chance to go to university at the age of 45 and thought I would give it a go! I left school with no qualifications and went straight into Junior Soldiers.

University is fantastic, I have been here now for six years and have started work towards a PhD in History and Archaeology. I specialise in Military Battlefields and have been lucky to excavate them, in both France and Belgium, working alongside some fantastic knowledgeable people.

I have recently started working as a Support Officer at Woody’s Lodge (North Wales) and I’m so thrilled to be working in this position, I haven’t stopped smiling since I was offered the role!
