Although born in the UK, a large portion of my childhood was spent growing up abroad – South Africa, Australia, the Middle East – due to my father’s work as a
Building Services Engineer. After not doing very well at school (a bad lad!) I ‘fell’ into Hospitality and Catering, working around the UK (West Midlands, Cambridge,
Leeds, Exeter, Bristol, and Cardiff) in a variety of customer-facing roles, from Junior Waiter to Guest Service Manager (and much else in-between).
I returned to university as a mature student in 2015, completing an Undergraduate Degree in Politics at Cardiff University (2018), followed by a
Masters (Environment & Development, 2020-21) from the same institution. I continued to work in the Hospitality business for a short while before starting at
Woody’s Lodge in Nov ’22.
Although not directly related to my university qualifications, working for Woody’s Lodge has proved to be very interesting:
seeing how hard the charity works to continue providing much-needed help for Veterans across Wales, and experiencing the sense of community among the
Woody’s Lodge ‘family’ of staff, volunteers and Vets!
