I was born in Colchester, Essex in 1967, and moved with my Mum and brother to New Quay, West Wales in 1968. After leaving school, I became a nanny in London in 1986. In 1989, I married a soldier in the R.E.M.E who was attached to the 7th Armoured Brigade in Germany.
Over the years, as an army family, we moved around many times with our two children, and I gained valuable experience working in various care settings, including fostering for 10 years. However, my most challenging and rewarding job was working with neurotypical children.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks, practicing yoga, walking with my dog, and spending time with my family.
I am honoured to join the Woody’s Lodge team as a Support Officer at Penlan. It is a privilege to be part of such a caring and supportive community and to make a difference in the lives of those who have served in the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
