Originally from the United States, I was born in an Army hospital in the state of Missouri while my father attended his Basic Training hundreds of miles away. I spent the first 18 years of my life travelling with my family from base to base across the U.S. and Germany as my father served in the Army.
Following my completion of school in 1993 I attended a small Military Academy and University where I earned a degree and my Commission and began my career in the U.S. Army. During my time in University, I also served as a member of the National Guard in the State of Missouri and later Kansas.
In 1997 I began a year of initial training which culminated with my graduation from the U.S. Army’s Ranger School. During my first eleven years in the Army I served in Infantry and Airborne units in the Republic of Korea, the U.S., Italy, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Over the last nine years of my career, I served as a Public Affairs Officer on Senior Army Staffs in Hawaii and Germany, last serving in the U.S. Special Operations Command Europe. In June of 2017, I retired from the Army after more than 20 years of service.
Immediately after leaving active service, I started work as a consultant supporting the U.S. Army in Germany. After more than a year in that role, I left Germany to join my family in North Wales where they had been since 2016.
I currently live in the town of Deganwy with my wife Ruth who is originally from Anglesey, and our two young sons.
I’m delighted to be working with Woody’s Lodge as their Communications and Fundraising Manager.
