We urgently need your help at Woody’s West Wales!

Damage to Woody's Lodge West Wales

Recently, a burst pipe has caused significant damage to one of the cottages at Penlan Farm, Woody’s West Wales. We were preparing this cottage to become a training and respite facility; now we need urgently need help to repair the damage. This is a critical West Wales resource for veterans, emergency service personnel and their families.

How can you help?

Our Project Manager at Penlan Farm, Steve Owen, explains:
It’s been a devastating blow to our support services but we’re looking on the positive side and see the repairs project as a unique opportunity for veterans and the West Wales community to come together for a great cause. We’re looking for anyone can donate their time, materials, trade skills or even give a donation to help us fund the work. Every bit of help would be appreciated and will enable us to get back up and running as soon as possible, so we can continue providing our local veterans and emergency services with much needed practical, social and mental health support.

If you are able to volunteer your time or expertise to help us repair the damage at Penlan Farm, please email us at: [email protected] or call 01559 361328. If you are able to donate towards the cost of repairs, we would be so grateful and no donation is too small, you can donate via the Woody’s Lodge Just Giving page here.

What is Penlan Farm?

The 11-acre Penlan Farm was donated to Woody’s Lodge by the Owners of ‘Dunster House Limited’ and is one part of the Woody’s Lodge, Green Green Grass of Home Project. The purpose of the Green Green Grass of Home Project is to develop outdoor activity programs that can act as catalysts to improve family relationships and mental and physical health. The multi-year project is initially being funded through two major Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust grants: ‘Positive Pathways’ and ‘Removing Barriers to Family Life’. Find out more about our plans for Woody’s Lodge West Wales based at Penlan Farm here.

Woody’s Lodge is a communications and social hub for veterans of the armed forces and emergency services, along with their families. We provide safe spaces for armed service veterans, recent leavers, reservists and those who served in the emergency services to socialise and access a wide range of health and social services. If you’re a veteran of the armed forces or emergency services and need some support, contact our team to see how we could help you.
