Woody’s Lodge awarded £30,000 from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust

Woody’s Lodge is delighted to announce that we have been awarded £30,000 over one year through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s CF Rise Pilot Programme to support a new organisational development project called Rise to Resilience.

This funding will help us strengthen the foundations of Woody’s Lodge so we can continue providing high-quality support to veterans, reservists, service leavers and their families. The project will focus on improving our governance, strategic planning, impact measurement and financial resilience, helping us build a stronger and more sustainable charity for the future.

At Woody’s Lodge, we have grown from a single supportive meeting space into a multi-site charity working across South, North and West Wales, with major hubs in Barry, Colwyn Bay and Llandysul, alongside satellite sessions in Wrexham, Rhyl and Holyhead. This means the funding is not just for North Wales — it will support the wider development of the whole organisation and strengthen the services we provide across all the areas we reach.

As demand for our support continues to grow, this investment comes at an important time. It will allow us to review and strengthen key policies and governance arrangements, develop a clear strategic plan for the next stage of our journey, improve how we measure impact, and build stronger financial planning for long-term stability.

This work will make a real difference behind the scenes, but most importantly it will help us provide more consistent, joined-up and sustainable support for the armed forces community. By investing in our core systems now, this funding for veterans will help ensure that Woody’s Lodge remains a safe, trusted and effective source of support for those who need us most, both now and in the years ahead.
