Operation Market Garden Cycle 2026: Woody’s Lodge Annual Fundraising Cycle Event
It’s back and bigger than ever – our annual cycle fundraising event. Woody’s Lodge is excited to announce the Operation Market Garden Cycle 2026, from 2–6 September 2026. This much-anticipated challenge will unite riders in an unforgettable journey through the Netherlands. Each year, our cycle event brings people together to ride with purpose, and 2026 promises to be no exception.
Over several days, the journey unfolds through powerful surroundings tied to Operation Market Garden, where the sense of history is felt as much as the physical challenge itself.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or stepping up to a brand-new challenge, it’s about being part of a team, sharing the highs and the tougher moments, and knowing that every effort contributes to the continued support Woody’s Lodge provides to veterans, reservists, emergency service personnel, and their families across Wales.
Why we ride
At Woody’s Lodge, we know how important connection, purpose and support can be. Every penny raised through this event helps us continue delivering compassionate, personalised support to those who need us most.
By taking part in the Operation Market Garden Cycle, you are not only joining an incredible experience, you are also helping us raise vital funds to sustain and grow our services.
Funds raised help Woody’s Lodge provide support including:
- One-to-one support and signposting
- Peer mentoring and wellbeing support
- Safe spaces for connection and community
- Practical help for veterans, blue light personnel and their families
- Outreach and activities that reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing
This challenge is a chance to push yourself physically while making a real difference to others.
Event dates
Wednesday 2 September 2026 – Sunday 6 September 2026
Participants will depart from HMS Cambria, Cardiff, before travelling for the ride.
Cost of taking part
Cyclists
The total cost to take part is £1,300 per person
This can be paid or fundraised.
A £250 deposit is required to secure your place.
Guests
The total cost is £850 per person
A £250 deposit is required to secure your place.
Support team / drivers
The total contribution is £550 per person
In previous years, support places have been subsidised, but due to rising costs we are now asking for a contribution to help make the event sustainable.
What your contribution supports
Your fundraising or event payment helps cover the costs of running the ride, but it also goes far beyond that.
As a charity, Woody’s Lodge relies on support like this not only to deliver fundraising events, but also to continue our day-to-day work supporting people across Wales. Taking part in this ride means you are helping to fund the event itself while also raising vital income for the charity.

Fundraising
All cyclists will be asked to either pay or fundraise the full event cost. We encourage participants to use an individual JustGiving page linked to the main Woody’s Lodge campaign so we can collectively show the impact of the event.
Fundraising support, ideas and guidance will be provided to help you reach your target.
