Woody’s Lodge Opens First Charity Shop in Wrexham to Support Veterans and Blue Light Services
New Charity Shop in Wrexham Opens in the Ty Pawb Complex, Dedicated to Helping Veterans and Former Emergency Service Personnel
We’re excited to announce the opening of Woody’s Lodge’s first charity shop in Wrexham, a space dedicated to supporting veterans, former emergency service personnel, and their families. Located on Chester Street within the bustling Ty Pawb community complex, this shop in Wrexham is the first of its kind, focused solely on supporting the ex-military and blue light services. This opening marks a major milestone for Woody’s Lodge, and we are proud to establish a meaningful presence within the Wrexham community.
This opening was made possible with the tremendous support of Wrexham Council, who provided us the opportunity to occupy a property within this vibrant community hub. Their partnership has been instrumental, enabling us to create a resource that not only raises essential funds but also raises awareness for the services Woody’s Lodge provides to veterans and their families across Wales.
The Wrexham charity shop offers an impressive selection of pre-loved clothing, accessories, homeware, and much more. A unique feature of our shop is a display of military memorabilia, generously loaned by local veterans and associations. These precious items—available for display only—give visitors a meaningful connection to the history and experiences of those who have served, reinforcing our commitment to honouring their sacrifices.
Graham Jones, CEO of Woody’s Lodge, expressed his gratitude, saying: “We are incredibly grateful to Wrexham Council for their support in helping us make our dream of opening a charity shop in Wrexham a reality. This shop will be a beacon of support for veterans and blue light service personnel, and we’re excited to be part of this wonderful community. The military memorabilia display further strengthens our mission to honour and support those who have given so much.”
Cllr Beverley Parry-Jones, Wrexham Council’s Armed Forces Champion, commented, “We’re delighted to support Woody’s Lodge, who have chosen Wrexham as a location for their new charity shop. We worked closely to find an ideal city-centre location for this outstanding charity, which does so much to help people who’ve served. I’m looking forward to seeing the shop open its doors, and I’m sure it will be a huge success.”
Woody’s Lodge invites everyone to visit our charity shop in Wrexham, explore the wide range of items on offer, view the military memorabilia on display, and learn more about the services we provide. More than just a store, our Wrexham charity shop is a space where the community can come together to support those who have served our country.
